Originally from Hawaii, Robert moved to Chicago in his early 20s to pursue an education in studio art at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.  There, he studied painting, photography and video art.  An early film of his entitled “Alice in Wonderland or Who is Guy Debord?” was screened at many festivals and museums, including The International Film Festival Rotterdam, London Film Festival and Madrid’s Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia. During this time, he became acquainted with the art world and the language of artists, an insight which has proven useful in his ongoing collaborations with visual artists. 

After his formal education, Robert began work in the field of film production.  His professional endeavors include years of work as an IATSE Local 600 Digital Imaging Technician.  This experience has afforded him the opportunity to assist and learn from many of the most skilled practitioners of the craft, including many Academy Award-winning DPs. 

Robert is focused on partnering with directors to bring stories to life in new and interesting ways. He is a based in New York City.
